InterGridCoin (IGC) is one of the new cryptocurrencies I have been developing. There is a 20-page product brochure I will publish later. This is a case study that is trying to identify the necessary technological components required to run a realistic global utility network, in the context of green energy production. I am hoping that this might turn out to be one of the most ambitious cryptography and tokenomics-oriented innovations regarding solar energy applications in cryptocurrency market since SolarCoin announced its grant program. Previously only posted on a Silicon Valley cryptocurrency group, the approach was apparently adopted also by Chinese colleagues who aggressively patented a decentralized energy network approach — that I have not read yet, however, there are many ways such decentralized networks can operate, which turned out to be one of the major technological problems that has to be solved before we can deploy something like IGC. In my case, I developed Cypher so that I could achieve sufficient scalability to run even a modest realization of IGC in the thousands of nodes which is needed if you want to run it in major cities. Ethereum is simply too unscalable and expensive to run such networks. I considered Stellar, but it does not offer much except basic token technology after all, though of course it can still be adopted. I decided to go beyond Stellar and design my own token platform called Cypher; the information about it will be released soon. It seemed more reasonable that I develop Cypher first, because it is faster to create value with a new #cryptocurrency chain, and I can develop the decentralized exchange later. Decentralized exchange will probably be the key technology, which Stellar already supports via StellarX that has not started trading yet, but there is no harm in trying to improve performance. A token protocol that scales up to 100K transactions would already be quite valuable, because that sort of network can easily scale up to millions of users and that means I can use it both for the Omega AI architecture, and stuff like IGC. Eray Özkural has obtained his PhD in computer engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara. He has a deep and long-running interest in human-level AI. His name appears in the acknowledgements of Marvin Minsky's The Emotion Machine. He has collaborated briefly with the founder of algorithmic information theory Ray Solomonoff, and in response to a challenge he posed, invented Heuristic Algorithmic Memory, which is a long-term memory design for general-purpose machine learning. Some other researchers have been inspired by HAM and call the approach "Bayesian Program Learning". He has designed a next-generation general-purpose machine learning architecture. He is the recipient of 2015 Kurzweil Best AGI Idea Award for his theoretical contributions to universal induction. He has previously invented an FPGA virtualization scheme for Global Supercomputing, Inc. which was internationally patented. He has also proposed a cryptocurrency called Cypher, and an energy based currency which can drive green energy proliferation.
